Traditionally, St Peter's eve was a time for lighting bonfires and fireworks, and fireworks still form part of the present-day event. During Mevagissey Feast there are also parades, demonstrations and a celebration of the heritage and history of the community. One of the highlights of the event is the carnival, when local residents dress in costumes and process through the village.
