St Endellion

St Endellion Music Festival is an internationally renowned music festival that focuses mostly, but not exclusively, on classical music. Many of the week’s concerts take place in the beautiful surroundings of the church of St Endelienta.

The festival was started in 1958 by a priest called Roger Gaunt, who was attempting to restore and renovate the church building. The church itself was a prebendary: a type of religious building that was supported by land and income in the local area. These were often given to priests for service to the church.
