At the chefs’ theatre, famous and local chefs demonstrate their skills to those attending. During the festival there is also a wide programme of music and entertainment. Outside the main celebration there are a number of other events, including a literature festival, kids’ zone and cookery competitions.

Cornish fishing ports like Porthleven have a long history of supplying high quality seafood. In fact, before the 20th century much of the Cornish diet was made up from fish, which was often preserved with salt and kept for long periods of time.
